What makes the South Bristol/ South Coast neighborhood a special place to live, work or, shop?
“Everything is walking distance, everything is at our backyard: theater, the mall, grocery shopping, retail spaces, restaurants. What it needs now is a hub where the community can gather and celebrate this wonderful place.”
“Younger Milenials and Gen Z can’t afford Orange County homes. A project like this will give us a vibrant walkable mixed-use neighborhood right here in Santa Ana.”
“What makes it a great place is that some of us grew up in the area and have chosen to stay to raise our own families. We only want to continue to make this community a prosperous one.”
“It should show the history of the land the building is on. Have an exhibit and a plaza hut in the planned park.”
How should Related Bristol best celebrate the history and heritage of this corner of Santa Ana?
“Santa Ana is so rich in history, there should be opportunities to read and learn about the history and current events. Incorporate Santa Ana artists in murals and public art.”
“Incorporate local artists murals or featured walls. This could also serve as a fun photo op.”
“Green space. It is important to have a buffer of green space along Bristol rather than a wall of concrete. Most mixed-use developments in Orange County fail to be inviting from the outside.”
“Integrate street vendors and food trucks into the farmers market and open space. Work with the City Manager to increase the economic development of small and large businesses and contribute to local vibrancy.”

“Programming is most important to me, like symphonies or movies in the park, holiday events, farmers markets, tai chi – whatever brings the community together and activates the space.”
